CLASS AND WELFARE SYSTEM



   P.O.S.H' has different meanings, some believe port out starboard home, this word was originated the journey between England and India in the name of raj it is used to refer to people of high class, esteem ( Phase finder 2012)

ANSWERS ON WELFARE QUESTIONS
1.     There are different ages for retirement for different professions but the official age for retirement in Nigeria is 60 years or 30- 35 year of civil service, this age applies to men and women.  
2.      In Nigeria, the Government does not provide old age pension for people too old to work.
3.      Unemployed people do not receive any benefit in Nigeria.
4.     Maternity benefits - when a pregnant woman goes on maternity leave, 50% of the salary is paid, that is it only benefit pregnant workers and not all companies agree to it, Death grants.
5.        Social workers are in Nigeria, but are not popular because funds are not allocated to              them and the organization is not effective.

8.     There is no equivalent of NHS in Nigeria, though government hospitals are available.
9.     In  Nigeria, Doctors are not very well paid, a strike were held in Nigeria  for close two years for the increment of salaries for the doctors, no certain amount was given.
